Following the negotiations, a protocol was signed, according to which, the airlines of both countries are able to increase the number of flights between countries from 18 to 32 flights per week; namely, on the Almaty-Dushanbe route to 12 flights per week, on the Astana-Dushanbe route to 6 flights per week, other routes among the  Astana, Almaty, Shymkent, Taraz and Dushanbe, Khujand, Kurgan-Tyube, Kulyab cities up to 14 flights per week. Thus, a legal basis between countries has been created for 32 flights in a week.

Also, the designated airlines of both countries have got the opportunity to conclude commercial agreements (sharing of codes, provision of block seats, and so on) between themselves and airlines of third countries.

In order to develop transit passenger traffic through Kazakhstan, the issue of opening direct flights is being worked out between the regional Kazakhstan and Tajikistan airports.

Currently, based on reached agreements, Kazakh airlines plan to increase the number of regular flights between Astana, Almaty and Dushanbe cities from the spring-summer navigation of 2019.
